Fly Me To The Moon, Then Knock Myself Back To Earth

Tell me something I don’t know about LOVE. It’s hard work, it’s filled with pain, it’s full of compromises, it’s a pain in the ass, but it’s worth all the unbearable things in the world. It’s one thing that can make you feel you can move mountains and lasso the moon for your loved ones. It’s fucking bullshit. Fucking bullshit.

You met this person who shook your soul, turned your world upside down, and left a significant mark on your thoughts. They gave you the biggest epiphany, the highest-paying lesson, yet this creature—this being—is intangible. You can’t hold them, nor do you have the opportunity to make them entirely yours.

When you’re with them, time’s stopped; the whole world’s stopped. There were only you and them, not only filling the void for each other but also completing the incomplete. But they’re still out of reach. They don’t want you to reach them, to be exact. They don’t want you to see the real them; they don’t want you to touch the real surface. They don’t even care about who you are or what your life values are. They only value you when they’re with you. Nothing less, nothing more.

So tell me something I don’t know about LOVE—the kind of LOVE that you can’t even explain with words. It’s beyond lust and desire, it’s beyond physical appearance. It’s beyond the boxes that ticked. It’s beyond all the things that can be washed away by time. It’s beyond the steady waves and currents. It’s beyond the dull and mundane days.

Every time you look at this creature, this being, you know you want to throw an anchor and stay there—not just for a while, but without a defined timeline. You just want to be with them in the present, as long as they want you. You keep wishing they won’t tell you they’re finally getting bored of you or of the inexplicably fantastic time you’ve spent together. You just want this to keep going, with neither of you backing down or stepping aside when things get hard.

Then tell me something I don’t know about LOVE—the feeling that makes you think you can fly to the moon every time this creature, this being, touches not only your physical self but also your soul and your consciousness… that love doesn’t have to be this hard. That love doesn’t have to be this sickening to feel. That love doesn’t have to become a hard pill to swallow. That love doesn’t have to become a bitter reality, where this creature, this being, doesn’t want the same thing as you do.

Then, the short trip to the moon might as well knock you back to Earth, carrying this unbearable truth.

Then tell me something I don’t know about LOVE… the most painful thing in the world, yet we always crave more and more.
